Hrithik to play Buddha in Shyam Benegal's film

New Delhi, 3 Jan, 2008 : National Award winning director Shyam Benegal who is known for films like 'Zubeida", 'Ankur", 'Mammo" and 'Sardari Begum" is busy these days in completing his romantic comedy 'Mahadev".

But it seems Benegal now wants to break free from the low budget circle and venture into bigger sets and costlier costumes. After wrapping Mahadev, Benegal is keen on a big budget film based on the life of Gautam Buddha. The Akbar of tinsel town, Hrithik Roshan, is being roped in for this role.
