SC dismisses rehabilitation petition of Appu Ghar workers
New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition filed by Appu Ghar 'Karamchari Sangh' seeking directions from the Centre to rehabilitate them in view of the closure of Appu Ghar from Pragati Maidan.
A bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat and P Sathasivam dismissed the petition holding that such directions cannot be issued to the government.
Appu Ghar had been closed down under the orders of the apex court and about 12 acres of land at Pragati Maidan has already been handed over by the DDA to the Supreme Court for construction of administrative block of the court as well as lawyers chambers.
