'WagonR, Chevy Optra and Corolla top cars'

Mumbai, Jan 2: Maruti's stable of small cars, led by Wagon R, has topped the Small car catagory, according to a nationwide study conducted by CNBC Awaaz Auto Satisfaction Index.

The Maruti Wagon R topped the small car segment followed by Maruti Swift with Maruti Alto and the Maruti 800 taking in the third place jointly. Other cars in the fray include the Hyundai Santro, Tata Indica V2 and Maturi Swift, a release said. In the tough medium car segment, the Chevrolet Optra managed to narrowly beat Honda City for the first spot. Other cars in the formidable segment included the Maruti Esteem, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Getz, Honda City, Tata Indigo and Ford Fiesta.

In the large car segment, Toyota Corolla beat off competition from the Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia.

The study focused on the 18 high-volume sellers from three distinct vehicle segments of Small, Medium and Large passenger cars, and measured the overall satisfaction of vehicle owners between 6-24 months.

The performance parameters was collected across the country directly from car owners, who evaluated their experiences with their vehicles from buying, to running and maintenance, the release added.
