Rajnath to address farmers rally in Karnataka
Bangalore, Jan 2 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party would organise a Farmers' Convention at Lingasugur in Karnataka's Raichur district tomorrow to be addressed by party president Rajnath Singh, as part of BJP's strategy to return to power in the state.
Speaking to UNI over telephone from Lingsagur, BJP state unit Secretary Shashil Namoshi today said over one lakh farmers from Koppal, Gulbarga and Raichur were expected to participate in the largest-ever Convention in this part of the state.
Former union minister and party in charge of the state Yeshwant Sinha would also address the farmers in the Convention. BJP State unit President D V Sadananda Gouda and the former Chief Minsiter B S Yeddyurappa were, among others, to participate in the Convention.
Mr Namoshi said a senior Janata Dal(S) leader and former minister M S Patil from Raichur district would join the BJP with his supporters on the Convention day. Former Inspector General of Police P R Nayak, would also join the party, marking the occasion, he added.
