will
meet
tomorrow
against
the
backdrop
of
political
developments
following
charges
levelled
by
AICC
general
secretary
V
Narayanasamy
against
Chief
Minister
N
Rangasamy.
The one-day session was convened to make certain amendments to exempt some items from the purview of Value-Added Tax (VAT) and incorporate tax reduction on certain other items in the VAT bill, already passed in the House and forwarded to the Centre for approval.
The session is likely to be stormy with the opposition raking up issues, including the charges against Chief Minister.
The monsoon session, which began on October 24, was adjourned sine die and an extended session, convened on November 5 had passed the VAT bill, replacing the ordinance, with which VAT was introduced in the Union Territory from July 1 last year.
