Jairam inaugurates ''Kashmir expo'' in Delhi
New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh inaugurated a two-month-long ongoing ''Kashmir Expo'' here today.
The expo, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Department of Handicrafts on self-financing basis, has set up 27 stalls showcasing shawls, carpets, wood carving, paper mache and other items from the valley.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was scheduled to inaugurate the expo. But, the chief minister could not turn up.
The exhibition, which commenced on December 15 last year, would come to an end on February 15.
Later, Mr Ramesh also inaugurated the Kashmir festival at Dilli Haat.
