Body of minor raped girl found in Assam

Tezpur, Jan 2 (UNI) The body of a 13-year-old girl, allegedly raped and murdered, was recovered at Kaochapathar Mohorkhuti near Depota under Tezpur police station in Assam's Sonitpur district today.

Police said the girl, a student of class VII of Bihaguri Girls High School, was missing since December 29.

Her family suspected that the girl had gone to commit suicide after failing to clear her annual examinations, when three people allegedly raped her and later killed her.

One of the miscreants had reportedly been identified as Suren Nath. However, no arrests had yet been made.
