98-year-old Swamiji of Nonavinakere Mutt passes away
Bangalore, Jan 2 (UNI) Kadasiddeswara Swamiji (98), senior Pontiff of Nonavinakere Mutt in Turuvekere taluk, of Hassan District, died of old age this evening.
The Swamiji breathed last at 1735 hrs in the Mutt.
The burial of the mortal remains would take place in the Mutt tomorrow, Mutt sources told UNI.
Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna, Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh, former Karnataka Ministers D K Shivakumar, V Somanna were among the frequent visitors to the Mutt.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, immediately after taking over the reigns leading JD(S)-BJP coalition government in 2006 visited the Mutt and had blessings of the senior pontiff.
