Min temp dips to 2.6 degree C in national capital


New Delhi, Jan 01: Delhiites woke up to the coldest New Year's day in five years with the minimum temperature dipping to 2.6 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature recorded at 2.6 degrees Celsius was four degrees below normal. On January 1 last year the minimum temperature was 9 degrees Celsius. The minimum visibility recorded this morning was 700 metres, Met Department said. Yesterday was the coldest December 31 morning in six years with the mercury touching 4.7 degrees C. Meanwhile, the weatherman had forcast a mainly clear sky with mist or fog for tomorrow morning. The minimum temperature was likely to be around three degrees C.
