BJP demands removal of Oppn Leader in Council

Bangalore, Jan 1 (UNI) The BJP here today demanded Legislative Council Chairman B K Chandrasekhar to remove Leader of the Opposition H K Patil from the post immediately.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chairman, copy of which was released to the press here, the party threatened to launch dharna if there was any delay in removing Mr Patil from the post and withdraw government facilities extended to him.

''It is illegal for Mr Patil to continue in the post even after 45 days of the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly and imposition of President's rule in the State,'' the BJP alleged in the memorandum.
