Suburban rail traffic disrupted as oil tankers derail

Mumbai, Dec 31 (UNI) Suburban services on the Central Railway here were disrupted today for nearly five hours following derailment of three oil wagons, including a loaded tanker, near Kanjurmarg Railway Station.

However, no one was injured in the incident that took place at 0450 hrs, a Central Railway release said.

Later, the fast suburban services were diverted on slow line between Mulund and Vidyavihar Stations.

Consequently, 14 suburban services and Mumbai-Pune intercity trains were cancelled and eight mail/express trains were rescheduled.

Traffic on the the up fast line was restored at 0845 hrs and the down fast line was made functional at 1030 hrs.
