New Year to usher in sunny day but below normal temp to stay
New Delhi, Dec 31 (UNI) Biting chill is likely to continue in the Capital with the mercury today recording below normal temperatures and the met office predicting colder days ahead.
Though the minimum temperature rose slightly to 4.7 degrees Celsius from yesterday's 4.3 degrees, it remained two degrees below normal.
The maximum temperature was also a degree below normal, recording 20.8 degrees.
The met office predicted colder days ahead with the mercury likely to dip to 3 degrees tomorrow. A mainly clear sky will prevail in the morning.
Cold to severe cold wave conditions are likely over many parts of the plains of northwest India during next two days, it added.
Saturday recorded the season's lowest at 3.9 degrees which was also the lowest in five years.
