Kosli Ekta Manch demands for a separate Koshal state
Rourkela, Dec 31 (UNI) The Koshli Ekta Manch (KEM) has asserted that only a separate Koshal state could remove socio-economic disparties and ensure all round development in western Orissa.
Speaking to newspersons here last night, KEM chairman Hamid Hussain alleged that in the name of industrialisation, the mineral resources of western Orissa were being plundered, tribal people looted and the ecology was being damaged, giving rise to socio-economic disparties.
He also alleged that the people of western Orissa were dissatisfied with the misrule of the successive state governments and added that only the formation of a separate state could solve all the problems.
He also urged the state government to shut down all sponge iron plants and follow environmental laws to ensure pollution-free industrialisation.
