Kosi Kshetriya Grameen Bank to open its 14 new branches

Saharsa, Dec 31(UNI) Kosi Kshetriya Grameen Bank will open fourteen new branches in seven districts of the region,providing better banking services to the people in the interior areas.

Bank chairman K K Singh told UNI here today that the bank had sent a proposal regarding the opening of new branches to the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development(NABARD) and Reserve Bank of India(RBI) adding eight out of fourteen proposed branches would be opened in the current financial year.

Mr Singh maintained 164 branches of the bank was already functioning in Saharsa,Madhepura,Araria,Purnia,Supaul,Katihar and Kishanganj districts of the region out of which 60 branches had been computerised and the rest would be completed by 2009.

Mr Singh further said the bank had actively participated in rural development by providing soft loans to the villagers, specially women.Students were also granted education loan by the bank,he added.
