Jaipur, Dec 31 (UNI) Rajasthan Rural Development Minister Kalu Lal Gurjar has claimed that the All India Gujjar Mahasabha had decided not to oppose any political party including the BJP and to support the move for holding talks with the Rajasthan Government to advance the cause of ST status for Gujjars.

Talking to UNI here today Mr Gurjar categorically refuted media reports about ''anti BJP stand'' taken by the Mahasabha at its Indore meet yesterday and said no resolution against BJP was adopted.

Mr Gurjar said he himself and Madhya Pradesh Minister Rustom Gurjar had attended the meet and there was no such move at the Mahasabha's forum at any point of time.

Mr Gurjar said in fact handful of people, including former BJP MLA from Rajasthan Gopi Chand Gurjar tried to create confusion by distributing fake draft of resolution and the Mahasabha's press release to the media in Indore.

He said he immediately intervened and countered these elements' bid by issuing appropriate clarification to the media and also urged the Mahasabha leadeship to make clear its position through a formal resolution.

''Accordingly the Mahasabha at the conclusion of the meet last evening adopted a resolution to state that at present Gujjar Mahasabha will neither oppose any political party including BJP'' nor will it ask any of the Gujjar ministers or other political functionaries to tender resignations from their posts'', Mr Gurjar said.

Besides this, the Mahasabha also decided to endorse and support the move of holding further dialogue with the Rajasthan Government to advance the cause of ST status to Gujjars.
