Youth succumbed to injuries, tension in old city

Akola, Maharashtra, Dec 29 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the old city area following the death of a youth in the general hospital here.

The youth was discharged earlier from hospital on December 4 but yesterday he complained of chest pain. He was immediately hospitalised but doctor attending on him declared him dead.

The deceased identified as Mahesh Ganesh Chaudhri (25), was fatally assaulted on November 28 by a group of youths, police said.

Old enmity is stated to be the reason behind the assault but the real cause is said to be a love affair of two youth belonging to two different groups over the same girl, the sources said.

Three assailants have been already arrested. An offence of murder under section 302 of IPC has been registered following the death of the youth, police added.
