Yeddiyurappa urges Governor to release crop insurance
Gulbarga, Dec 29 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa today urged state Governor Rameshwar Thakur to make insurance payment to farmers whose loans were waived by his government.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the crop insurance was not paid due to financial situation when he was the Finance Minister.
''The financial position of the government has improved. The government is now in a position to disburse the amount. I will soon write a letter to the Governor in this regard. I will also urge him to set up a technical advisory committee to speed up irrigation projects,'' he said.
Referring to the invitation extended to former JD(S) rebel leader M P Prakash to join the BJP, he said the party would take a decision on admitting him after a discussion with the party district leaders.
