TN CM assures separate district headquarters for Tirupur

Coimbatore, Dec 29(UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today assured that Tiruppur would be made a separate district headquarters within three months.

Speaking at the function to elevate Tiruppur Municipality to City Corporation status here, Mr Karunanidhi said an official announcement to this effect would be made in the assembly.

Listing out various developmental schemes undertaken by the State Government for Tirupur, the Chief Minister said, only in his Government, a hosiery worker could also become a Mayor.
