6 members of a family charred in fire in Gaya

Gaya, Dec 29: Altogether six members, including three children, of a family were burnt to death while one sustained severe injuries at Budhgaria village under Wazirganj police station in the district late last night, police said today.

Police said the accident occurred after a fire broke out from a burning lamp while Prem Manjhi and his family members were fast asleep.

His wife and other members of the family died on the spot while Manjhi sustained serious burn injuries. He was rushed to Magadh Medical College and Hospital in the city, police said. Meanwhile, police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.
