Panic after live grenade foound near general bus stand in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 29 (UNI) Panic gripped in general bus stand at Batmaloo when a live grenade was found this afternoon, official sources said.

A group of people found a live grenade near an overhead water tank fencing in the crowded bus stand, they said.

Troops of 164 battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) posted in the nearby roadside bunker, immediately sealed the area and those present there were taken to a safer place.

Later the grenade was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).

Early this week, a live grenade was recovered near the CRPF bunker in the same area. The grenade was later defused.
