Nobel Laureate Md Yunis pleased over medical facilities in city

Kolkata, Dec 29 (UNI) Nobel Laureate Professor Mohammud Yunis today said that modern medical and hospital facilities were good in the city.

After visiting Bhagirathi Neotia Women's and Child Care Nursing Home at Park Circus in the central part of the city, Mr Yunis said that while modern hospital facilities were lacking in this subcontinent, he was pleased to see that the city has an array of good health and medical facilites.

The nobel laureate had also visited a paediatric department of the hospital and distributed sketch books to 10 children admitted here.

Earlier today, he delivered a key note address on micro insurance for health facilites in the rural areas on the developing countries at Asia Heart Foundation.

On his way from Bangladesh, he visited the city for the second time after receiving the nobel prize last year.
