Live cartridges found in hotel kitchen, road in Mysore

Mysore, Dec 29 (UNI) People moving around a hotel on the Bangalore-Ooty highway here had a miraculous escape as bullets fired from nearby police firing range narrowly missed them.

People in the vicinity of a hotel and the highway were shocked to find bullets that came falling into the kitchen, while several fell on the highway which were fired at wrong direction from the trainee police personnel. Luckily no vehicle passed on the road while the bullets started falling, eyewitness reports said.

Police who rushed to the spot after being alerted by the hotel workers recovered eleven pieces of bullets used in rifles.

It was learnt that some policemen who were practicing firing had fired in the wrong direction where a tempo stand and the hotel was situated.

City police commissioner Bhaskar Rao has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
