Governor expresses grief over Benazir's assassination

Jaipur, Dec 29 (UNI) Rajasthan Governor Shilendra Kumar Singh today expressed grief over the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Speaking at a conference in Jamea-tul-Hidaya Jaipur Mr Singh said Ms Bhutto was among four most powerful women leaders in South Asia and her killing had shaken us to the core of our hearts.

He said that this was really unfortunate that like Mrs Indira Gandhi, her contemporary leader in India, she had met unnatural and painful end at the hands of male fundamentalists.

Likewise, other two women leaders of the region Sheikh Hasina Wajed and Khalida Zia had been also facing hardships in the male dominated socio-politcal set up, he added.
