Big-B perform 'ardas' at Golden Temple for Teji

Amritsar, Dec 29: Mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan alongwith wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishekh, daughter-in-law Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, Samajwadi Party MP Amar Singh and other family friends performed 'ardas' at the Golden Temple in memory of his mother Teji Bachchan, who belonged to a Sikh family.

The Bachchans paid obeisance at the Golden Temple and also performed 'ardas' at the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine. The Bachan family alongwith others had arrived in the Holy City yesterday evening after emersing the ashes of Teji in the Ganga at Haridwar and Varanasi. Tight security arrangements were made at the Golden Temple in view of the visit of the VIPs.

There were reports yesterday that the Bachchan's had also planned to emerse the ashes of Teji in the Sutlej at Kiratpur Sahib in Ropar district, but employees at the hotel where they were staying said that the family left for Mumbai by a chartered flight that had brought them here yesterday.

Teji had passed away following a porlonged illness in Mumbai on December 21.
