AIADMK to protest Govt's neglect of tribals

Chennai, Dec 29 (UNI) The opposition AIADMK will stage a one-day protest in Thiruvannamalai against the continued neglect of Javathu hill tribals by the state government.

In a statement here today, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa charged the DMK Government of not issuing the community certificates to the Javathu hill tribals who come under the Kalasapakkam constituency of Thiruvannamalai district.

The tribals were also denied of loans, eventhough an exclusive Jamunamarathur Cooperative Society was being run for the community, she said.

She also alleged that most of the roads in the area were in a bad condition and no efforts were taken by the authorities to repair it.

The Party's Thiruvannamalai south district unit would stage a massive protest before the Javathu Hill Panchayat Office on Monday, the release said.
