Well-known sculptor Amarnath Sehgal dead

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Renowned sculptor Amarnath Sehgal passed away at his residence here yesterday following cardiac arrest.

Sehgal, who died at around 1500 hrs, was 85. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Family sources said Sehgal was rushed to the Moolchand Hospital after he flopped in his chair. He was declared brought dead at the Hospital.

Sehgal was one of the best known Indian sculptors. His work has won critical acclaim from across the globe. Right from Luxembourg to the US, his sculptures have found place in several well known art galleries and museums.

His cremation took place last evening.

Vice President Hamid Ansari condoled the death of the famous sculptor.
