Srinagar, Dec 28 (UNI) A local court has directed a senior police officer to personally supervise the investigation into the murder of a girl, who had named some people, including a woman, allegedly involved in the sexual exploitation of innocent girls.

Hearing the petition filed by the Forum Against Social Evils (FASE), the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) directed Superintendent of Police (SP), Hazratbal, to supervise investigation into the murder of Aaliya, a resident of Soura, and submit the case report before the court on Monday.

FASE in its petition has alleged that police was shielding the killers of Aaliya, who had named some people, including a woman Sahiba, who forced her and other girls into flesh trade.

During the argument, the counsel for the petitioner Bashir Sidiq prayed before the court to order exhumation of the body of Aaliya to ascertain her death.

He said Aaliya was subjected to serve physical and mental torture during her 25-day illegal confinement by Sahiba Mr Bashir said Aaliya had expressed apprehensions about her safety to some lawyers and the members of FASE in the court on December 10.

He said Aaliya was killed by Sahiba to destroy the evidence as she (Aaliya) was to disclose all the names involved in the trade.

Expressing satisfaction over the police investigation, the CJM directed the SP Hazratbal to personally supervise the investigations.
