S Tel to offer revised tariff across the nation
Chennai, Dec 27 (UNI) S Tel Limited, a telecom provider establishing a spectrum efficient state-of-the-art telecom infrastructure and network on pan-India basis, will offer 30 paise per call and drive the tariff down across the country.
According to a company release here today, S Tel was one among the applicants for new telecom licences in all the 22 service areas in the country.
S Tel had filed their application before October one, 2007 deadline set by the DoT for filing applications. They enhanced their earlier offer of additional revenue of Rs 6,000 crore to an amount of additional revenue share of Rs 13,752 crore over a period of ten years and the amount would become payable after allotment of 6.2 MHz GSM spectrum in 900 MHz frequency band for all 22 circles.
The company also came forward to pay the additional revenue share over a period of ten years and the spectrum charges revenue share payable as per the existing policy.
"The call rates for the next ten years will not increase beyond 30 paise per call and we will drive the tariff down across the country which will give cost reduction to the customers", company Director Santhosh Robert said in the release.
