New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh convened a meeting of all party leaders this evening to apprise them of the security scenario in the backdrop of the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto at Rawalpindi.

The Prime Minister had promised to talk about the issue when soon after the news of Ms Bhutto's death, Leader of Opposition L K Advani called Dr Singh.

''I will be attending the meeting,'' Mr Advani told mediapersons.

Asked if he would be travelling to Pakistan to attend the funeral of Ms Bhutto, Mr Advani said the ceremony has been planned as a family affair. However, he would go to the Pakistan High Commission to sign the condolence register.

He also said National Security Advisor M K Narayanan had briefed him about the developments in Pakistan but declined to comment on the issue except to say that the developments in the countries around India required higher levels of attention.
