Lukewarm response to Maoist bandh: Police
Visakhapatnam, Dec 28 (UNI) The bandh call given by the CPI (Maoist) today in the agency areas to protest the killings of three Maoists on December 6, in an encounter near Kunavaram village, did not evoke much response.
Additional District Superintendent of Police T Krantikumar said the Maoists had set a fire a lorry at Pedagadda and killed a person at Chintapalli mandal, suspecting him to be a police informer.
The Road Transport Corporation had cancelled all bus services in the area.
More police force was deployed to prevent any untoward incidents, he added.
