CPI urges CPI(M) to consider Forward Bloc's demand

Agartala, Dec 28: CPI central committee leader D Raja has requested Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to consider the Forward Bloc's (FB) demand on the seat-sharing issue in the upcoming Assembly elections to strengthen the Left Front's unity.

Ahead of the CPI Tripura State Committee meeting, Mr Raja called on Mr Sarkar yesterday and discussed political issues related to the Assembly elections and the Left Front's strategies at the national level.

''I requested the Chief Minister to consider the Forward Bloc's demand. At the same time, I asked the Forward Bloc leaders to think over the sprit and ideology of the Left Front and to maintain integrity among the partners,'' Mr Raja told UNI
