AMC leader injured, 3 family members killed in accident

Akola, Dec 28 (UNI) Congress House leader in Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC)--Jahruddin Badruddin Chavan and his nephew were seriously injured, while his wife, niece and the driver of the vehicle were killed in a road accident today.

According to police, the accident took place between Karanga Bhaqdge and Kondhali village at Akola Nagpur road when their car collided head on with another car.

The family was proceeding to Kamthi near Nagpur for attending the marriage of Mr Jahruddin's nephew.

Mr Jahruddin's wife, Maimunabi(55), niece (46) and driver Santosh Thakur (35) died on the spot. Meanwhile, his grandson, Fardin (5) miraculously escaped the mishap unhurt, the police said.

Both the injured, Mr Jahruddin and his nephew Ibrahim (11), had been admitted to the Nagpur hospital, the police informed.
