Police held smuggler with contraband ganja bound for Kolkata

Nawada, Dec 27 (UNI) In a major seizure of narcotics, police today arrested a member of an inter-state smuggle gang and confiscated about eleven quintals of ganja from his posession in Bihar.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar said Panchu Sahni, the member of drug smuggling gang, was arrested from Fatehpur under Akbarpur police station area in the district.

Acting on a tip off, a police team raided Fatehpur this afternoon and arrested the smuggler with contraband goods worth several lakhs of rupees. He was caught minutes before boarding a Kolkata bound bus.

During interrogation the arrested person admitted smuggling of ganja from Nepal and supplying it to various parts of the country.
