BJP meet in Delhi to draw future course of action

Bangalore, Dec 27 (UNI) In the backdrop of BJP's big win in Gujarat, party leaders will meet in New Delhi on December 29 to take stock of the political situation in the country and draw future course of action to further strengthen the party.

Talking to newspersons here today, BJP National General Secretary Anant Kumar said the meeting to be held under the chairmanship of Opposition leader in Lok Sabha L K Advani would discuss the party's victory in Gujarat and next course of actions to guide the party to success in the ensuing Assembly elections in Karnataka.

''After its debacle in Gujarat, the Congress is fearing to face elections. The countdown for the fall of UPA government has begun.

The Congress will face another rout in Himachal Pradesh elections,'' he said.

Speaking on the occasion, former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa took strong exception to an alleged statement by State Revenue Secretary S M Jamadar that the state government was not an insurance company to pay compensation to the affected everytime when a natural calamity occurs.

Stating that the official should not have made such a statement, Mr Yeddyurappa urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to take disciplinary action against him immediately.

He said a meeting of BJP office bearers would be held here tomorrow to take stock of public support to the party's 'Jana Jagruti' programme.
