BJP accuses CPM of intimidating voters in Balagarh bypolls
Kolkata, Dec 27 (UNI) The West Bengal unit of the BJP today accused the CPI(M), of indulging in violence during the Balagarh byelections and intimidating voters and Opposition members.
Alleging that BJP candidate Bashi Raut was attacked by CPI(M) workers, led by son of former legislator Divakar Raut, BJP general secretary Rahul Sinha said from Balagarh that Mr Raut had been seriously injured and taken to the Zirat Health Centre.
An FIR had also been lodged at the local police station, he added.
Claiming that the BJP was gaining support from the local people, Mr Sinha alleged that the CPI(M) was intimidating and terrorising the people here.
He also demanded that the culprits should be arrested for disrupting peaceful holding of elections.
