Bhutto's murder a set back for democrecy in South Asia:Digvijay

Patna, Dec 27 (UNI) Former minister of state for external affairs and senior JD (U) leader Digvijay Singh today termed the killing of former prime minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto as a major set back for democretic forces in South Asia.

Mr Singh told UNI that Ms Bhutto was fighting to strengthen the roots of democrecy not only in Pakistan but was also an inspiring political figure for all democratic forces in South Asia.

''Ms Bhutto was among the front runners in fights launched against the fanatic and fundamentalist forces in Pakistan and also around the world'', Mr Singh said, adding dispite being a woman, she had exhibited unparallel courage to restore democracy in her country and also sustained struggle aginst the fundamentalists.

''The former prime minister would always be remembered for her contribution in promoting the cause of SAARC countries'' the former minister observed.

''In her death I have lost my true friend'', he remarked.
