Bangalore, Dec 27 (UNI) Ashta Mutts (Eight Mutts) of Udupi which are managing the famous Sri Krishna Temple will soon have a written Constitution, Vishvesha thirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt said today.

Talking to newspersons here , he said that hitherto the temple was being run with an unwritten Constitution. The written Constitution will be on the principles of democracy. ''It does not mean that so far the management was undemocratic and there was any shortcoming in the functioning of the Ashta Mutta'', he clarified.

He said both Senior and Junior Swamijis of Ashta Mutts would meet soon to give final touches to the Constitution.

Referring to controversy over +Paryaya+ taking over the responsibility of performing puja for two years to Lord Krishna in the temple on rotation by all the Eight Mutts from January 18, the Swamiji said he was confident that the function would be held smoothly, putting an end to all controversies.

He said that he was not against any individual as far as +Paryaya+ was concerned. He was being accused unnecessarily of denying +Puttige+ Swamiji to adore +Paryaya+ since he had visited USA for preaching Hinduism. '' I am not against Puttige Swamiji, but as per rules in 'Madhava' religion, those who visit any other country crossing the seas are not eligible to perform Pooja to Lord Krishna and all the eight mutt heads are sticking to it.'' By not adoring Paryaya, Puttige Swamiji will not be loosing any rights on the Mutt, he said and added he can pass on the rights to his Junior it makes no difference''.

He said sometimes some cannot perform pooja very strictly due to work pressure or for any other reasons. In such cases simple methods have been prescribed. But in the case of Puttige Swamiji it was not so as the religion clearly specifies that those who cross the seas cannot perform Pooja to Lord Krishna with the same method and many Madhava's abroad have expressed it, he pointed out.

He said Puttige and Palmar Mutt Swamijis and he would be meeting on January one to thrash out differences of opinion and find a suitable solution to put an end to the controversy and pave the way for the smooth conduct of Paryaya.
