Lucknow, Dec 26 (UNI) Principal Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) today denounced the new economic policy framed by the Mayawati led-Uttar Pradesh government, terming it a conspiracy to sell public property to industrialists.

''To quench her thirst for money, Mayawati is hatching a conspiracy to sell public property of the most politically significant state to big industrialists,'' SP state unit spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary told reporters here this evening.

''The new economic policy has been framed keeping the interests of industrialists in mind. By approving it, BSP has unveiled its anti-people face,'' Mr Chaudhary underlined.

He maintained that in the name of new economic policy, Mayawati disowned her responsibility from development.

''Under the Public-Private Partnership formula, she opened the way of 51 per cent minimum and 89 per cent maximum private sector partnership in electricity, water, road, education and medical services.'' Now, free education and medical services would be out the common man's reach as he would not be able to afford the exorbitant prices of these services provided by the private sector, the SP leader observed.

Mr Chaudhary said the UP CM has nothing to do with development.

She is only eying to sell all possible economic resources in the state to industrialists.
