Pooja Urgani bags Snowcem Architecture Award '07

Mumbai, Dec 26 (UNI) Pooja Ugrani bagged the first prize today at ''Snowcem Architecture Awards 2007'', organised by Sir JJ College of Architecture and Snowcem Paints.

Kajal Dhamane and Pooja Shah shared the second prize.

Over 200 entries were received for the year's topic, ''Night Shelters for Street children''- a project to design shelter for the city's street children, a release stated.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Sir JJ College of Architecture Principal Rajan Lakule said, ''This year we are very happy to see a high level of excitement in students, and hope to organise more such competitions.'' Among the other winners, ''Best Design Award from the First Year'' went to Anuja Karve with commendations given to Esha Tipnis, Chaitanya Chavan and Nikhil Borkar.

The jury members consisted of architect Neera Adarkar, author and urban researcher, Percy Kutar, architect Vinay Somani and trustee Karmayog, the release added.
