L&T bags contracts worth Rs 315.20 crore in Oman

Mumbai, Dec 26 (UNI) Larsen&Toubro (Oman) LLC has bagged two EPCs worth Rs 315.20 crore (USD 79.71 million) from the Dhofar Power Company (DPC) and Muscat Electricity Distribution Company for electrical substations in Oman.

The contract from DPC, valued at Rs 186.50 crore (USD 47.16 million), is for strengthening various transmission and distribution systems in Dhofar Region and includes construction of new substation, modernization&expansion of existing network and construction of associated overhead Lines and cabling works, stated a release.

The contract with Muscat Electricity Distribution Company is of Rs 128.70 crore (USD 32.55 million) for construction of five 33/11.5kV primary substations and associated cabling works.

The projects are expected to be completed within seven to 16 months and are expected to meet the growth demand and new loads within the Muscat area.

Larsen&Toubro (Oman) LLC is a joint venture of Larsen&Toubro FZE and The Zubair Corporation and has been operating in Oman for the last 14 years, added the statement.
