Haryana to allot HUDA plots to lawyers

Panipat, Dec 26 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the state government would make a provision to allot plots in residential sectors developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to those lawyers who did not have their own plots for constructing their houses.

The Chief Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone of the Advocate Chambers in the judicial complex here.

He said the advocates should charge less fee from the poor so that they might get quick social as well as economic justice.

''Our judiciary has played a vital role in strengthening our democratic fabric and the advocates have played a lead role for this purpose,'' he added.

The Chief Minister, appreciating the role of the lawyers in the national freedom movement, said great national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Gopal Krishan Gokhle and Maulana Azad belonged to the legal fraternity.

Paying rich tributes to Shaheed Udham Singh, whose birth anniversary falls today, Mr Hooda said the martyr was a symbol of communal harmony who laid down his life for the sake of his motherland.

He said that Shaheed Udham Singh would always remain a source of inspiration for the youth to devote their lives in the service of their motherland.
