Tripura PSU bags award for innovative man management policy

Agartala, Dec 24: Tripura Forest Development and Plantation Corporation (TFDPC), a PSU, has bagged the the EMPI-Indian Express Indian Innovation Awards-2006.

Official sources here today said TFDPC Managing Director V K Bahuguna received the award from former President A P J Abdul Kalam on December 21 in New Delhi for the PSU's innovative man management policy and work culture.

Entrepreneurship and Management Processes International (EMPI) and The Indian Express together gave away nine gold and five Silver trophies to institutions that had displayed technological as well as creative innovation.

Besides TFDPC, Larsen and Toubro, Mahindra and Mahindra, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Mind-Tree Consulting had received the silver medal while gold went to Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation for evolving from a cash-strapped PSU to a business entity with applications of IT and efficient management of ticketing, water supply and sanitation.

Maharashtra State Road Transport also bagged the gold for innovative village cleanliness drive and TCS for computer-based functional literacy modules in many Indian languages as part of its CSR.
