Suzlon bags ONGC order to install wind turbine


New Delhi, Dec 24: Leading wind turbine supplier company Suzlon today said it has secured an order for istallation of 51 MW of wind turbine capacity from country's biggest oil producer Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

The order, to be supplied in 34 units of Suzlon's S82 1.5 MW turbines, will be set up as part of a project in the Kutch region of Gujarat, company said in a statement. The contract also covers comprehensive Operations and Maintenance for the project for a period of ten years, it added. ''This order is a major initiative by ONGC towards developing renewable energy sources alongside conventional sources to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable energy future.''
