Elderly woman murdered, jewellery stolen

Lucknow, Dec 24 (UNI) Masked men killed an aged woman and fled with jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees in Mahanagar area of the Uttar Pradesh capital today.

The incident took place under Mahanagar police station area, where armed jewel thieves barged into the house of Prem Kumari Jain (70) and absconded with the booty.

The body has been sent for autopsy and investigations continued, police said.
