EIILM provides free education to economically backward girls

Ranchi, Dec 24 (UNI) A Sikkim-based university has decided to provide free education to 150 economically backward girls of Jharkhand.

Talking to mediapersons, Eastern Institute of Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM) pro-vice-channel O B Vijayan said altogether 500 girls from across the country, who were unable to pursue higher education due to financial constraints, would be selected for this programme.

200 candidates from regular courses and 300 from distance learning courses would be given 'Genius girl scholarship', he added.

He also said the scholarships would be given to the students pursuing biotecnolgy, media studies, hospitality and healthcare courses.

The University established in 2006 under section 2 (f) of the UGC offers post gradute, graduate degree and diploma courses in business management, computer application and other professional fields.
