Court gives life sentence to three murder accused

Shimla, Dec 24 (UNI) A Fast Track Court today awarded life imprisonment to three persons, including a woman, in a murder case.

Additional Session Judge Rajan Gupta awarded the sentence to Balak Ram, Surinder Kumar and Shanti Devi, all resident of Badhau village, and directed them to pay fine of Rs 20,000 each.

In default of payment of fine all the accused shall further undergo three years imprisonment.

According to the charges, the trio made a fatal attack on Prem Lal with sickle, baton and stones on March 11, 2006 while he was on way to his work.

Some people who tried to save the victim on hearing his screams, were also beaten by the accused who later fled.
