World Chrysanthemum Day to be observed in Tripura

Agartala, Dec 23 (UNI) As part of the World Chrysanthemum Day, the Tripura Chrysanthemum Guild (TCG) has organised a three-day show at Ujjayanta Palace here from December 25.

Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly Subal Rudra would inaugurate the show while about 100 Chrysanthemum growers from across the state would participate in the show with four varities, TCG officials said.

''To promote commercial cultivation of Chrysanthemums is our main aim with the climate being favourable for the flowers,'' officials said.

The TCG had launched floriculture promotion programme across the state, as more than 60 per cent of the flower demands have to be met by importing from outside the state.
