RLD observes 105th birth anniversary of Charan Singh

Lucknow, Dec 23 (UNI) The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) today observed the 105th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.

''In the present political scenario, the significance of the late Prime Minister has increased as the state government has gone astray...it is apathetic towards the pains and sufferings of Dalits and farmers,'' RLD state president Ram Asrey Verma said after garlanding the portrait of Mr Singh at the party headquarters.

Senior party leader and former minister Sachchidanand Gupta noted the economic policies framed by the late Prime Minister are vital for the country's development.

He was the true well wisher of dalits, backwards, farmers and the minorities, he said.
