One killed in police firing in Chittorgarh

Chittorgarh, Dec 23 (UNI) One person was killed in police firing during the bandh sponsored by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in protest against the slaughter of a cow at Jamanpura village on Eid.

Chittorgarh SP Bhupender Sahu said one person was killed in police firing at Gunapura during the bandh today .

After yesterday's arson following the slaughter of a cow during Eid-Ul-Zuha the Kapasan sub divion is observing a bandh today on a call by the Vishwa Hindu Parihad.

The killing of a cow in Jamanpura village trigerred the violence which took a communal turn yesterday in which many properties belonging to members of the minority community destroyed in arson and violence.

The bandh was almost total with business establishment remaining closed.
