Gujarat results a rejection of divisive politics: Badal
New Delhi, Dec 23 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today described the results of the Gujarat Assembly elections as a rejection of the ''Congress'' brand of politics which sought to divide the people along communal and sectional lines.
Mr Badal congratulated senior BJP leaders including Mr Rajnath Singh, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Mr L K Advani.
He also congratulated Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for successfully thwarting the Congress propaganda aimed at dividing the society by calling the ruling party as 'merchants of murder'.
Meanwhile, MP Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is also the working president of Shiromani Akali Dal, also felicitated the BJP leadership and said that the results clearly showed that the Congress was no longer a party of any political relevance in the country.
He said that the top leadership of the Congress including its president Mrs Sonia Gandhi could not match the charisma of Mr Modi who went to the people on the agenda of good governance and development.
